Throughout their time at Silsden Primary School children have the opportunity to attend 4 residentials.
In Year 2 they get the chance to sleep with the fishes! We take them to The Deep, in Hull where they get a private tour, when everyone else has gone home. They then snuggle into their sleeping bags and sleep next to the fish and creatures, in the large tank.
Year 3 residential is a one night and 2 day Roman experience! As part of their topic on Romans we visit a Roman Museum and Hadrian’s Wall. After a night stop over at The Sil Youth Hostel when children get to bunk down with their friends, we visit historic Roman Fort of Vindolanda.
Year 4 is a 2 night experience, under the stars! This links with and enhances our outdoor learning curriculum – From encouraging independent thinking and personal development to increasing teamwork skills and communication. https://thebushcraftcompany.com/
In Year 6 our pupils head off, for a full week, to Winmarleigh Hall for a tailor made programme of adventurous activities and outdoor learning that challenges all and builds on the threads of our Silsden Seven.
