At our school, we are committed to supporting the emotional wellbeing of every child. That is why we employ Mrs Sealey, a fully Certified Play Therapist (Membership Number 201802255), to work with children.
Mrs Sealey has undertaken extensive post-graduate academic and clinical training. She is a registered member of PTUK (Play Therapy UK), works within their ethical framework, and receives regular PTUK accredited approved clinical supervision.

As a PTUK practitioner, she is registered with the Professional Standards Authority, an independent organisation regulating and monitoring health and social care providers.
Play Therapy is a type of therapy where play, (a child’s natural medium of self- expression) is used as the main way for children to express themselves.
Talking about problems can be hard for children.  It can feel safer and easier for a child to express themselves without necessarily having to use words, but instead through their play.

Children often find it difficult to put their emotions into words. Through the use of toys, art materials, storytelling, sand trays and imaginative play, Play Therapy enables children to communicate in ways that feel natural and comfortable to them. By building a therapeutic relationship with the children, Mrs Sealey helps children explore their feelings, develop coping strategies, build resilience and improve their emotional wellbeing.

Play Therapy can support children who may be experiencing anxiety, bereavement, friendship difficulties, family changes, low self-esteem, emotional regulation challenges or other situations that may be affecting their learning and development.

Our aim is to help children feel understood, valued and supported so that they can thrive both emotionally and academically. By working closely with families and school staff, Play Therapy forms part of our wider commitment to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to achieve their full potential.
