Our School Pond

We are delighted to have a school pond as part of our outdoor learning environment. The pond provides a valuable habitat for a variety of plants, insects, amphibians and other wildlife, giving our pupils first-hand opportunities to explore and appreciate the natural world. In June 2026 we introduced our own ducks that have been hatched and reared by Nursery!

Our pond is used throughout the year to support learning across the curriculum, helping children to develop their scientific knowledge, observational skills and understanding of environmental responsibility.

How Our Pond Supports the National Curriculum

Learning Beyond the Classroom

Our pond provides meaningful outdoor learning experiences that bring the curriculum to life. By exploring real habitats and observing wildlife in its natural environment, children develop a deeper understanding of the world around them and the importance of protecting it for future generations.
